Arabic learning journey
At every station, my Arabic grows.
I recognize my first set of Arabic letters and their sounds and begin sounding out short words.
I learn the remaining Arabic letters, recognize and write them, and sound out familiar three-letter words.
I recognize different letter forms within words and practice joining letters and separating words into individual letters correctly.
I read and write simple three-letter words without long vowels and write familiar words from dictation.
I read words with short vowels, sukoon, and tanween, break them into sounds and syllables, and blend them back together.
I distinguish short vowels from long vowels, build and expand sentences, and read and write short paragraphs.
I apply shadda, tanween, taa marbuta, and the sun and moon letter rules in reading and writing.
I read aloud clearly with appropriate expression and speak about familiar topics using connected sentences.
I identify a text’s main idea, key elements, and details and retell it in my own words.
I understand texts, make inferences to answer questions, and accurately write a paragraph from dictation.
I plan texts with an introduction, body, and conclusion and write short narrative, descriptive, and informational texts.
I use past-tense verbs with first-, second-, and third-person pronouns to speak and write about events.
I use present-tense verbs, negatives, questions, and linking words in reading, writing, and organized expression.
I build accurate, connected sentences and use pronouns, possessive constructions, prepositions, and grammatical agreement in speaking and writing.
I combine my skills to understand longer texts, write a multi-paragraph text, and present a language project.
